Guzaarish

The movie is about a famous magician named Ethan Macrahenus. Due the rivalry of his friend Yaseer Sididqui plays a treacherous trick on Ethen due to which he become quadriplegic- damaging his spinal cord permanently. Ethen’s mid is fully normal and for 12 years he lives a paralytic life in his own house with nurses Rosy and Mary permenantly living there and Sophia, his personal nurse. Devyani Dutta, his lawyer and the doctor are his closest friends besides Sophia and constantly inspiring too. Ethen is a man of dignity and so much self inspired that he starts a radio channel, Radio Zindagi, which changes thousands of people’s lives.
All of a sudden, Ethen has a wish (guzaarish) to ask the court of law for euthanasia because according to him, he goes through the suffering every day, every hour, moment in his life. And even after bearing so much pain, if his condition is improving a bit, then he has all the will power to live a normal life again. But since the doctors have given up, on his disease, he cannot ask God for death in self pity. He wants to die a dignified death, a death of honour which he deserves as much as any normal man in this world.
He has visualized his death and does not want his soul to suffer to an extent that atlast, the Almighty pities his soul and gives him death. He thus decides to apply for euthanasia to which his family, his only mother, friends agree and Sophia helps him in the cause.
Let me take this into a perspective, that we all believe in. We do not have a choice while coming into this world, but we definitely can plan our death. A dignified death is much better than a torturous death. The reason behind this is, that the body is perishable but the soul remains alive. No matter how serious is the illness, the soul never gets hurt in any way rather gets uplifted day by day bearing the torture of the diseased body. A man like Ethen who lives a dignified life until the day of the accident, dies the natural death full of pain and torture, then it would be a burden on his soul. Rather, it is very brave of him to ask for euthanasia after spending twelve long years as a quadriplegic.

Well, if Ethen had filed the petition for euthanasia the night after the accident, then all the people would say that he is a coward. But now when his condition is deteriorating day by day and there are no chances of a normal life again, why is the petition rejected?
Almost all the religions believe in reincarnation of the soul. So here we can say that if Ethen’s life this time is to suffer then he has to suffer. Just to ensure, that in the next birth his soul will be uplifted as a better incarnation. If he asks for early death then in the next birth the suffering will be more painful until the time decided by the Almighty for his soul to suffer. For this he will have to take birth as a human being and repeating the pain and the sufferings.
This movie is too idealistic but there are people in this world who glide to accept their death peacefully. Ethen throw a party and fulfills Sophia’s and his dream to be man and wife.
Sophia plays a very important role in this movie. She is married but not happy and willingly takes Ethen’s responsibility. She is everything to him and he is everything to her. She is the last one to come to know about Ethen’s euthanasia. Initially she feels, that all her effort and perserverance is of no use because Ethen has given up. But in her heart, she loves Ethen. Eventually by taking care of him, she realizes the pain of the disease, that sucks away the joy of living a happy normal life in future. So eventually she decides to help him in his fight. Eventually her loe for Ethen matures from a teenage lover to a matured one. She is forced to help the man whom she loves so dearly. That’s how she is supposed to be, being his lady love and being by his side till his last breath.
Same is the story of Ehten’s mother, who passes away before he decides to embrace a dignified death. She has given birth to the world’s most wonderful son. When fate has decided the worst on him, then in those moments, she is ready to let him slip away in the grave gracefully and with dignity. On Ethen’s request, she decided to leave him and so that she enjoys her last days, the way she wants. Ethen gave his mother full freedom to live a happy life and so she chose not to control his life and went away until the day of jurisdiction taking place at Ethen’s home.
What upsets me as an audience is that why is the court against the plea. I mean this man did not file for euthanasia petition as soon as he met with an accident. He lived this life for 12 long years. It’s not easy for that diseased to live a long life like that. When the procecuter fighting against Ethen’s petition could not even stand 60 seconds enclosed in a big container, then he cannot fight against the petition because he cannot even think of living 12x365x24x3600 seconds, the way Ethen has lived.
Ethen had a vision that he wanted to be positive in his life despite of the irreversible disease. Hence, he started his own live radio show, Radio Zindagi. Actually, he was on the lookout of a loyal disciple so he could teach him everything that he knew, so that his talent is in the right hands and is not misused. So atlast, he can die a dignified death.
When Ethen met Omar Siddiqui, he gave him the book from which he learnt magic. Ethen also taught him all the magical tricks with utmost perfection, knowing that he is the son of Yaseer Siddiqui, the man who gave him a quadriplegic life. This is something we have to learn from Ethen. That, let bygones by bygones. And teach the enemy in such a way as if one is teaching is own son so that the knowledge remains pure, gets recognized. And over and above that we take our souls to a much higher level in our normal life without even doing meditation or yoga.
Ethen made Omar learn the art of magic. And left no stone unturned to make him a much better magician than himself.
Just by doing so, Ethen was making his soul light and full of happiness and love so that his soul would have a better life in the next birth. His soul was a dignified one and this is how he planned to die in a dignified manner by making Omar, the finest magician in the history of the region. And last but not the least, marrying Sophia, the love of his life.
So folks, one day we all have to leave this world but it is upto us how to want to plan our death and die as a dignified soul just as Ethan Macrahenus.

Guru

Guru - Movie Review

Guru is a movie depicted on the life of DhirubhaiAmbani. Dhirubhaiis the first business tycoon who has the vision of creating a giant business empire- RELIANCE.
He is a Sindhi Gujarati with his father as a school teacher and a mother at home looking after a family of six, two sons and two daughters. Dhirubhaiis the second son of his family. When he appears for his metric exam, his father falls seriously ill. So he requests the young Dhiru to go to Aden and earn for the family. Dhirubhai wanted to study further but since his father’s condition, he happily agrees to go to Aden to work there. Those days Aden was the second busiest trading and oil bunkering port in the world after London handling over 6,300 ships and 1,500 dhows a year. He works as a clerk in the firm A. Besse& Co. is the largest transcontinental trading firm east of Suez. It was engaged in almost every branch of trading business-cargo booking, handling, shipping, forwarding, and wholesale merchandising. Besse acted as trading agents for a large number of European, American, African and Asian companies and dealt with all sorts of goods ranging from sugar, spices, food grains and textiles to office stationary, tools, machinery and petroleum products. Dhirubhai is first sent to the commodities trading section of the firm. In the breaks, Dhirubhai roams about in the market, and learn the business strategies.
In this movie, Gurukant Desai, has gone to Turkey to earn. And in the breaktime, he would roam about in the Turkish streets wherein he learnt a lot about the trading and doing business.

He learns to keep accounts, basics of opening a trading company, the language used by the traders and business men like equity and IPO and further more. And by this time people have realized that GurukantDesai, has an uncanny knack for the business and trade.
When Dhirubhai is given promotion in the firm, he set his foot down and decides to head homewards to set up his own business. Because by now, he has become a guru (master) of each and every tactic essential for not only setting up a business for making polyester fibre; but also how to develop into a large business empire. Dhirubhai Ambani started with merely Rs. 15,000.
The reason why we take pride in exampling his life is that he is self-empowered. He reads a lot of self-help, self-inspiring books. He improves his English, learnt to write business letters and the most important thing is his uncanny courage to excel in life before anyone in the market. He uses to make a lot of friends who would help him in quenching his thirst for knowing each and every knick knack of the trade and business. For this purpose, he makes friends with sailing merchants, and the crew team and shares his experiences with them. He is a great listener, and that’s where he wins the battle. And the way in which he carries himself that no one could break him up. His uncanny strength to succeed, in the rat race before anyone else, makes him the first business tycoon of India and Father of Modern Economics.
There is an incidence in the movie, that the Head of Apparal Stock Market puts a seal on the building where the trade is going on. What Guru does, is that unloads the whole shipment in this Head’s house. He says that when I cannot sell the product, and as I am indebted because of your sealing the office and when I cannot payback to the company then (Head of stock exchange) take this shipment and get clothes stitched for everyone in your family. When the Head gets panicky, he finds Guru’s place and requests him to take away the shipment. Guru has his condition that Open the market and I will do so. But the Head resisted. Guru says that he won’t take no from him. He made the Head back away and open the stock exchange buiding the very next day. This was Dhirubhai’s strength too.  To find such a way that he can demand the opposing party to fall on his knees and plead, and that point Dhirubhai just just did what he said otherwise to the party but first Dhirubhai’scodition and then opposing parties. He won’t take a no, and the tremendous courage, that no one in the market produces the best polyester and that too at a reasonable rate. DhirubhaiAmbani was the first person to introduce polyester in the country.
Yes he aimed for the Sun and will do anything for it. His own strength, courage, humbleness, shrewdness is the strength of a common man. When we look at Dhirubhai’s photo his face is illuminated by the cosmic radiation coming from within himself who ends up a rags to riches millionaire. Back home, his father, discouraged him, to go to Bombay and do business. His business empire was so huge that the general body meetings used to take place in stadiums!!!!! And in the end of the movie, Guru is shown in a stadium addressing his workers.
When the panel of judges, sit to decide whether, Mr. Gurukant Desai, is guilty of the 39 charges, the Head gives a speech in English, which Guru did not understand. On the contrary, DhirubhaiAmbani was quiet effluent with the language. The jury takes place for 4 days and at the end of each day’s charges, Guru is asked to speak in defense for himself. He shuts up and merely listens. And on the fifth day when the public is also invited, he finally speaks up. The judges give him 5 min. He has been questioned about the illegal methods taken up to expand his business. He said that yes he did try the decent way. But the decent way didn’t work out after innumerable trials and then he started the illegal way. He doesn’t know the legal matters. All he know is how to make polyester, dye it and that too buying products at a very cheap rate and producing A-one quality polyester.
In this movie it is said by Guru that he is ignorant about the business and trade laws. But then, the question arises that, how come he got his name in the illegal matters. I mean we only do illegal stuff only after knowing the legal stuff.
The man who promotes Guru, MankchandDasgupta is the chief editor of the SwatantraSamachar. This man is quiet impressed with Guru’s uncanny wit and courage and so decides to promote him in Guru’s earlier days to set up the business. But once when Guru is bribed by Arzan’s father to work for him, Guru misuses the SwatantraSamachar and asks to write against Senior Contractor. Manikchand didn’t like this act and so asks Shyam, a young journalist to expose the real Guru in public. But there also, Guru compliments Shyam, and encourages him saying this name and fame has come after a long time of constant perseverance, all the best for the fight, prepare well for the fight and also to write well in the newspaper. But in the end, the panel of judges found Gurukant Desai guilty for only two charges out of thirty nine ones. This is the strength of DhirubhaiAmbani’s courage to price himself as one of the costliest business tycoons of India merely in 70 years. He was the first person to introduce equity in share market. Dhirubhai is an example if the famous saying by Swami Vivekanand, “ARISE, AWAKE AND STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS REACHED.”
The whole nation goes against him not because he is spreading his business at a horrendous speed through illegal business tactics, but because no one in the country neither the politicians, cream of Indian aristocrats, bureaucrats has such courage and self-inspiration as DhirubhaiAmbani has. Dhirubhai’s own father discourages him.He knows that he is born to change the face of the Indian economy and all he dreams ofis, his own vast business empire- RELIANCE.
How many of us can even think of nurturing such a thought or having a wild dream like that? There are hardly 50 out of 50000 people. And out of that, 40 of them just stumble with this thought because they don’t know what to do for such kind of a wild dream. Merely 10 out 50000 dream wildlyand are ready to go wild for the dream. And out of them DhirubhaiAmbani is just one out 50000 people.
Dhirubhai neither waits for an astrologer, angel or the parot reader to tell him the exact year, month, week, day, date, hour, minute and second that when will he be able to set up the RELIANCE EMPIRE. He knows that he wants to be a big name. So the line says that, “BEAUTY LIES IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER,” meaning every common man has once in a lifetime an opportunity to become big, and he only becomes big when he realizes that that opportunity has finally come on his doorstep and he should grab it immediately. Dhirubhai, becomes an icon in our great country. Yes, he is the ordinary man. He comes to Bombay with his wife and 2 pairs of trousers and shirts. Even he hasproblems in his life, but he knows the strength within himself and the precise use of the Indian resources in order to be the biggest Indian business tycoon in his life time. In his lifetime whatever DhirubhaiAmbani has achieved in 70 years can be achieved in say 30 to 40 years in any of the foreign countries. But he chooses his homeland for the RELIANCE Empire and makes it a reality even before we all can realize that he has done it.  The point where we Indians lack is that we focus on our negativity. A majority of the us, talking about the large middle class or the lower class just do labour and die, and do not even realize that their inner soulful voice can be as strong as Dhirubhai and they can be at the level of Dhirubhaior even greater than that. All we Indians do is boast about our rich culture and heritage and curse our present governing bodies, saying is that there is dirt lying everywhere around the corners of the street and the cows are at lose and so are the dogs and all the politicians do is to fill their pockets and not worry about us. A majority of an Indian life is wasted in this and whatever is left is filled by the astrologers, parot readers and Angels.
Actually God has given us all the equal strength. That strength is fully utilized by Dhirubhai and that’s why everyone talks of him. This is the simple truth of our lives!! We blame others for us not being on the top. Well, my friends, lets empower ourselves and strengthen our strengths and turn our weaknesses into strengths eventually by taking the full charge of our lives in our hands and focus on merely our goals, life, career and then we will no more be called a Third World Nation.
The title to Deepak Chopra’s famous book is that You Can Win. Well no one pushes us towards the winning side unless he himself is fully aware that he has taken his life in his hands and led it in apositive direction with full self awareness of his strengths and weaknesses.
When a child is born, the parents are overjoyed. And they enjoy with him his childhood. Now when comes in the higher standards of the school, there is tremendous pressure from parental side that he must study hard and become an Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer. All the time he is compared to the person who stands first in his class. But the reality might be something else. He wants be a Fine Artist or a Performing Artist, or maybe Yuvraj Singh, or A.R. Rehman. In doing something that he doesn’t want to do, all his life he turns into a depressant and becomes negative about his life. Because he cannot bear the fact that his inner soulful voice is being killed by his own parents. Eventually, the kid may become a Doctor but will fail in the world outside and then the parents think that he is a burden to them. Why so much of control then? Why not give him the freedom to choose his own path and let him be happy?
If the boy, goes his way then also the parents take it that he is not considerate of them and is going against their wishes for they are scared for his failure. Well but the boy has already seen the success and is working hard towards his goal. I mean why should he live like his father whom he respects and loves a lot but doesn’t want to opt for the same career as his father wishes? All the parents have to say is that this their house and he will have to do what they say or else he may leave because he is the burden to them. Then why give him the life? Parents are running away from their responsibilities and then they want to blame all the negativity on their children. And when they grow up in a marriageable age they are marred to the girl whom they chose because she comes from a highly effluent family and both of their horoscopes match?? What a wonderful example the parents have set for their children?
At the age of 15 or 16, both the parents can talk to their little boy at his level and make him aware of his strength and weaknesses and ask him to take his final decision over career.  Do whatever you can if fall down we will pick up and love you because you are our son and we love you from the day we decided to bring you in this life, honey is what a boy will love to hear and then see the progress of the child. Such a boy will be more conscious about his career and will always be happy whether he becomes a rock star or an actor. Love is the unconditional feeling of acceptance and respect that we all chose to give our children to make them better citizens. Only then, the children will respect us and give us the position of their lovely Gods and love us for the rest of their lives. They are trained to listen to their inner soulful lives and are slowly and lovingly guided towards the serious life from the playful life of their childhood. Such children are bound to be better parents, are positive in every sphere of their lives. Parents explain them everything maybe innumerable times at their level so they realize and dream for their ultimate success.
Girls are no exception to this situation. The moment a girl is born, the parents are happy. She is given the same opportunity as the boy for studying, her extracurricular activities, for her career etc. The moment she reaches her physical maturity, she is taken for granted that she will be mentally also matured. So irrespective of the age and her studies she is expected to learn everything that she has to do all her life after marriage. Every time she hears these words, that she has to be patient and loving and caring and never raise her voice, because women are born to suffer. If she raises her voice in her parents’ home what will she do in her in laws place? Her inner voice is every time killed by her parents and marriage is taken by her more of an obligation then a relationship of enjoyment and equal partnership between her husband and her spouse. Why is she blamed for being a girl? Why shouldn’t she have an opinion of her own? When she has a different opinion than her parents, they get scared because such girls will always fight with her in laws. And if she doesn’t argue she is killing her inner soulful voice. Still in India, the birth of girl child is a curse. I mean what have we really gained after 63 years of Independece? Thank God, SardarVallabhbhai Patel is not alive such a girl child. The lower class people and the middle lower class people have now started educating their girls upto graduation. But in the villages it’s the same story. Girls are not even allowed their playful childhood days. People keep on trying until and unless they have a boy and then they curse all the little fairies and if they don’t bear a male child they are thrown out? Why? Why? Why? And in upper middle class people say that not to give that girl child so much freedom otherwise she will not listen to her parents and so parents feel like disowning her. Very rarely do I hear parents saying I have a lovely daughter and she is the best I can have.
Parents choose to give a new life to their children mayit be a boy or girl, when they are born. Hence it is their responsibility to nurture the kids with love and fervor. They need to listen to them, play with them and make them learn the importance of their lives by talking at their level. Let them choose the way they want but as parents promise them your uncanny confidence, respect and love for the children and as parents also we get their uncanny Love, Confidence and Respect. Parents can choose never to judge, humiliate their children nor compare them with anyone and rather take pride every time they hear people talking about their children. Just compare their last time’s success to their present and motivate them to reach to the perfection level which is where we all want our children to reach. Help them out to enhance their strengths to perfection and turn their weaknesses into strengths too. All this is possible when parents talk at their level, tell them stories from which they enjoy the playfulness of their age and yet get the message that they have to excel till perfection level. Give him or her all the support and trust of yours and trust me they will be DhirubhaiAmbani in their own field of comfort. The only way to empower the future generation is that we have to be there the strongest uncanny support of their lives. Make them realize that they can be as perfect as us. Just be with them. Support in whatever situation they are in and whatever they want to do. Explain with great patience and give them their own space once they enter their later teenage.Children coming from such backgrounds can reach to the stars easily. They can handle the each and every problem tactfully and they can get away with anything in their lives. They listen to their inner soulful voice and follow it to that level where they will be the Gurus of their own field. That’s what the movie is all about that, be the master of your own field and reach the top before anyone reaches there. We have to make our children realize that they can be DhirubhaiAmbani, Sachin Tendulkar, Mani Ratnam or A.R. Rehman. Each and every relationship is a successful one may it be with a friend, or the spouse or just a stranger met once while travelling. That’s how the saying goes that,”YOU ARE LUCKY IF YOU HAVE GOOD PARENTS, FRIENDS, TEACHERS, MENTORS, COLLEGUES AND PEERS.“ Bet our country will progress at much faster rate and be one of the super powers of the world, dreamt by  SardarVallabhbhai Patel, The Iron Man of India.

In this world, some people get good parents, friends, teachers, or mentors or get to know themselves when they are really young. Children having a god rapport with any of the above, make their lives, by listening to the above people.
When nothing works out for our progress then, we need to calm down, empower ourselves by listening to our inner soulful voice and how to strengthen it that voice so much that we can be on the top of the world.  This is all what Dhirubhai did all his life to strengthen his inner soulful voice by hardwork and dream the ultimate successful business empire he wanted to build. He used it eat it, dream it, love it, drink it so that he gets a high to work harder the next day to make his dream come true. He knew that the way to his success is within himself so all he did was to dream about the empire and he did find the ways leading to the creation of the enormous business empire.
Today, yes, maybe though this movie, or even before that people didn’t like the illegal methods Dhirubhai used to expand his business, but even then his rivals have a positive opinion about him and praise his guts.
Well basically,Dhirubhai always knew what he wanted and he made his way by finding people who could help him accomplish the dream. All he said is that I want to do this business guide in everything about it and if you cannot, then he will find a way to make you say yes or find someone better than you to help him with his dream. He will not stop dreaming and working hard because someone said no to him. He commanded the people to help him out. Now in India, this is quiet rude method of asking someone to help. The reason being, that he wants people to him out. But that’s where we are wrong. He asked the people to guide him that’s it and he will help himself out. And within no time we will hear that he has achieved a new milestone towards his ultimate goal. To ask help is one of the most negative things to do in our society. If we want help, then we must ask politely. And wait for our turn to get the help because there are other people in the queue before us. But both in the movie, the character Gurukant Desai and DhirubhaiAmbani asked people to guide them and not help them out because they believed in the saying “GODHELPS ONLY THOSE WHO HELPS THEMSELVES”.DhirubhaiAmbani has this tremendous fire within him which is his inner soulful voice, and day by day he fuelled it so much with his hard work. He found answers to the questions that he asked that he reached his ultimate dream despite the heartbreaking efforts done by politicians, the nation and jurisdiction.
As said by Sri SriRavishankar, A MAN HAS SO MUCH ENERGY THAT HE CAN LIGHT A WHOLE NEW YORL CITY!!!! And DhirubhaiAmbani is a live example of the above saying. And if even 5% of our population works in this direction, the whole country, will soon become a super power one day.
There are so many Hindi songs to empower ourselves, Like
Jeenakya from Om jai Jagdish
Ashaayein from Iqbal
Lakshya title song from Lakshya
These songs really empower us. They are composed and sung with the idea that someone in India will make it to the top of the country by self-inspiration and self-empowerment.
Dhirubhai is a self-inspired and self-empowered person. And thus he did not wait for some outer agency to motivate him. This is very well cinematographed in the character of Gurukant Desai, in this movie.
Every person’s soulful voice, can be as strong as DhirubhaiAmbani’s, we just have to realize that and “ARISE, AWAKE AND STOP NOT TILL THE GOAL IS REACHED.” Imagine success as a true reality, eat it, drink it, breathe it, believe it, word it and dream the ultimate success of our lives. And then automatically we will be paving the road to that success. Then see the power that’s generated from within us. Success will reach us in no time: but yes we have to work hard day and night for it. We have to make small sacrifices for the ultimate goal in our lives. The difference is that Success comes to us if we believe in ourselves. All we have to do is that we have to believe in ourselves and give meaning to our lives by believing each and every word that we utter, each and every thought that passes through our minds. Words have greatest strength and when they are coupled with hard work SUCCESS COMES TO US. Lets make it clear, we do not have to reach success, success finds us. It’s this difference of belief that Dhirubhai believed in.
In this movie, just before the panel of judges pronounced their verdict, Gurubhai, is given a chance to speak up on his asking only. When the judge asks him the reason for not speaking in the previous sessions, Gurukant Desai said “Aajkeliyeaawaazbachaakerakhithi, Sahaab. Mein baniyaahunsahaab, harcheezkafaydanuksaansochkarkharchkartahun.” These words are so powerful and depict that what a thorough businessman Guru is, and so is Dhirubhai in his real life.
Words have the strength of changing the world for us, the only thing we have to do is to believe in them. Our thinking power is so strong that success comes to us. Our words and our thoughts will never fail us. As, they come directly from the perfect soul within us. We are all a part of God. Hence we can all be as perfect as we want to be and be on the top of the world. All we need to do is give our words meaning, our unsaid thoughts and unsaid emotions words, believe in them and work towards them to make it the biggest reality of our lives. We all need to love ourselves much more than our family, friends, relatives, colleagues and others. We are all very beautiful from inside. Just let that beauty get absorbed in our physical body and then see the difference that we can make for ourselves. When the soul’s beauty is enhanced, automatically people around us, get positive vibes and also want to be as beautiful as we are.
DhirubhaiAmbani’s biography and business tactics, are read  worldwide today. The very essence of his life is that the power to make success mine is within myself. There is God within myself and I can achieve the wildest dream of my life as the ultimate success. It is not important how long we live but how we live our lives. We also need to learn to weave our lives around our inner soulful voice.
Dhirubhai was not a baby born with a silver spoon. He wanted to give his sons Mukesh and Anil the best opportunities to study and make their own lives. No one could dampen his iron will power . He is a real man and no matter what he did at the end of the day his rated himself in the Indian market to Rs. 70 crore!!! Let us name him as the rags to riches Bill Gates of India. And now he is the Father of Modern Economics too!!!
Dhirubhai, never ever compares judged or humiliated himself no matter what the whole nation, media, politicians, buearocrats or aristocrats said about him. All he knows is that he is constantly proving himself better than what his last performance is. He sharpened his skills that are required to where he is right now. The only person he proved his, himself. He finds it rather stupid not to prove himselfand to prove the whole nation so that the nation proclaims him as the biggest business tycoon or the rags to riches millionaire. He knows that this is a rat race and if he leaves his inner soulful voice behind, he will not reach the top at this speed. So he heard it and let the whole world aside and conquered his own dream and the success did come to him. He carried himself in such a majestic manner knowing that, that he is the master (Guru) of his own business. This is where the name of the movie comes from. DhirubhaiAmbani is the GURU of the largest business Empire in India- Reliance.
From the movie point of view, excellent sets, script, cinematography, choreography, music, lyrics, screenplay, the dialogue writing and the dialogue delivery. Excellent characters played by AbhishekBachchan, AishawaryaRaiBachchan, VidhyaBalan, R. Madhavan and MithunChakroborty. Yet, another masterpiece desingned by the famous duo, Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rehman.
The way Mani Ratnam has brought out the character of DhirubhaiAmbani in Gurukant Desai is a fantabulous job. Each and every miniscule detail of Dhirubhai’slife, has been given utmost attention to its perfection. And the way, each and every character has been designed around Guru’s surrounding is also commendable. The use of the precise language, where to put in a punch with a wit in it is an art in itself. Yes there is some masala added to make the movie go a big hit on the commercial front but overall I enjoyed each and every part of it.
The beauty of this movie is that, that Mani Ratnam has directed at such a level that even a layman in art can get the message across. Playing Guru’s role is a heavy task on Abhishek Bachchan, but wow this man has proved himself that at least in this movie he is the GURU. I guess that all his family members must be very proud of him. He has done a fantabulous job and proved himself that he is the best.
I have seen this movie at least 15-20 times from start to end. Yes I know each and every dialogue that is delivered, where, how and in which circumstances. The reason behind seeing such a movie is that, I get to empower myself. And by fueling my desire to become something big every time I see this movie. I want to self-inspire myself so I am at the top may it be Architecture, Writing, Singing, Photography or a Homemaker.
When Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rehman decide to join hands together to design a movie, it’s a masterpiece. They are the Gurus in their own field of Direction and Music.
From an architectural point of view, loved the Hagia Sophia mosque, being cinematographed. The depicting of the early India, the old stock exchange market, and the typical early 1900s Bombay streets, Marine Drive is all what matters in making of a masterpiece. The sensitivity with which Mani Ratnam has selected the sets, actors, cast, crew, music and the lyrics commands a standing ovation from the audience. And with the same sensitivity, A. R. Rehman also designed the music for the movie. Both of them know that they wanted to make this movie, Guru, a big milestone in their career, and they gave everything to it be it money time, space, energy worked 24 hours round the clock till the perfection is achieved.  No other than both Mani Ratnam and A.R. Rehman could have done a better job. Both of them are self-empowered. And the satisfaction that they got after seeing it on the big screen is something that they cannot put it into words. And no movie critic , media, and no common man can say or write. I would also like to congratulate each and every man behind the screen and onscreen that they have done a commendable job, the lighting man, the fashion designers, the makeup men, the choreographers etc. And the way the Gujarati family has been brought out in this film and the typicality of the Gujarati as a language is very well artistically presented in the dialogue delivery. That’s the most miniscule point of the movie but then it becomes the backbone of the movie. The strength behind Dhirubhai Ambani comes from a typical Gujarati business family.
Each and every Bollywood movie isn’t perfect without music and dance. The lyrics for the songs of the movie, has been designed by none other than Gulzar - the master of the Hindi poetry.
The art of mixing the Indian Classical Vocal music along with the contemporary music is what, A.R. Rehman is a Guru of. Fantastic range of music has been designed and catered to us. And also the credit goes to all the playback singers, SunidhiChauhan for Maahiyaa, Shreya Ghoshal for Barso re, A.R. Rehman for Jaage, TereBina and Hariharran for Aye Hairate and Ek lo ek muft.
I believe in each and every dialogue of Guru character. Amongst them, one of my favourite is when he meets Rajiv Gandhi and he says to Guru that he has heard a lot about him. Guru’s answer is that when people talk a lot about you then believe that you are progressing more and more daily. This is the same thing that Lal Bahadur Shastri’s father said when asked by the press after his son became the Prime Minister that now that his son will have more enemies then before. This means that Lal Bhadur Shastri, has done good social work for the benefit of our country and so obviously people will feel jealous and have enmity towards him. And because he is now the Prime Minsiter, he will keep on doing social work with full authority in the benefit of the nation.
The verdict of the jury was very interesting. Only 2 out of 39 charges were found guilty so Guru had to pay the compensation money. The attitude with which he gave away the money is, MY VALUE IS MORE THAN 70 CRORE RUPEES, N I JUST HAVE TO PAY IN COUPLE OF LAKHS (Millions), take it as neither I am upset nor has anyone dampened my courageous soul to move ahead. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!
That’s the Guru, the actual Dhiru Ambani is in his real life. Salutation to this great rags to riches millionaire. Wow!!! What a masterpiece we watch and everytime we get inspired and empowered by ourselves!!!!

The Rann Controversy

Well this is the true face of the political people roping in news channels. The actual news never ever reaches to the common man. In the movie, Purab Shastri is not roped in and is eventually made the CEO of India News 24/7 when Vijay Malik comes to know that his own son is involved in making the CD made the CEO of the news channel can only be possible if people like Vijay Malik exists. But in India, more than anything we all learn one thing that money is the biggest friend. Using it we can buy news, create communal riots, begging votes and then doing none of the promised deeds. Just filling up one’s pocket. In most of the cases, all the educated people just don’t watch the News channel. The reason is the main news is always hidden. In this sense many people trust the newspapers more than the news channels.   So many a times people read the new online too directly from the newpapers’ website.
The works of all the major artists is very well cinematographed. Actually the reason why such a movie has gone a flop show is that, that we Indians do not want to accept the reality. And even accepting the reality is not the solution until and unless there are people like Vijay Malik and Purab Shastris being given encouragement. In the real world that Purab Shastri never ever reaches the Vijay Mallik because he is either boycotted, tortured and make him stand against his own family.
Now the common man is so much immune to all such kinds of movies because even if he knows that there is a foul smell coming out of a particular pipeline, he will not repair. The reason being that the pipeline itself is coming from dirty water so no use repairing at his end. Yes but if that muddy dirty water is made clean and usable then there will not be any problem of pipeline giving a foul smell. But now the question arises that how many of us, would want to step into that dirty water resource from where we get water for our daily purposes?? No one enters such waters. Because there are systems in it that has quicksand like properties.
There was a film, released a few years back by Madhur Bhandarkar showing the actual world of the print media journalism. Well the movie is harder than this one because in the end Konkana Sen Sharma is forced to take up that branch of News Media from which she found out that what the elite people do behind the face of the party and that had cost her job. Then in the end she changed her point of view to look at elite people. That’s the sad messege of the movie. That filth in our society is deep that good journalist like her, have to change their point of view in order to earn their bread. What could be more shameful than this?

The 3 IDIOTS Controversies

The concepts that are touched in the film of 3 Idiots are totally new to the whole of Indian families.
The thing different with this kind of movie is that it’s a totally different concept. To let the child decide what he want s to do, is totally different a concept.  It’s a serious choice in todays world upto parents that they let the children do as per their liking if they chose the happiness of the child. Like it happens with R. Madhavan, who is so crazy about the animal photography but then he is forced into Engineering.  The result is that, that out of the three friends, Raju, Rancho and Farhan, Rancho is the only one who is able to get good ranks in Engineering. Farhan flunks day after day in Engineering. Raju believes that in pleasing  God, Goddesses and wearing all sorts of rings so that he passes in the exams. Rancho is the one who encourages them, to bring in the real Farhan and Raju. So on their graduation day Farhan find the courage to finally talk to his Dad that he wants to do wildlife photography. And finally Raju does wear those rings and bags a job in a good software company.
Yes, it’s a very different perspective from what the parents are brought up with. Because the generation gap between their parents and them was not as much as that between them and us. During our parents’ time, there were less career options, great limitations, less transportation and communication facilities and media facilities. But now, there are so many branches coming up. There are many avenues wherein if the student can get an overview of the whole subject and work in that direction. Students become more responsible, choosy and think futuristically that what are the prospects regarding his own growth, career wise, financially, can have enough savings and can still be a hot shot regarding his career and still enjoys what he is doing. This is the modern concept of SELF MANAGEMENT.
Hence, to bring into force, the concept of self management, in many of the countries, that kind of training begins right from the childhood. It maybe, selecting a party dress that the child attends as an example. Well suggestions are welcome from them always but at last its they, who say that they said what they felt like now you chose what you want to wear.  But if that’s the case in India the moment the child chooses something different for his parents, they take it to heart that he does not care about them and all sorts of other things. Now that’s the thing that should stop. It’s a very small thing to make an issue of but the damage caused by the parents on the child’s psychology is so immense that it lingers on and on and come out in a very rebellious way in the future.  Well the initial difficulty faced by the child of indecisiveness is taken by the parents that he doesn’t have his own thinking and just this kind of thinking ruins the child’s life forever and ever. Suppose there are two children in the same family the parents tend to compare the bright child with the indecisive child and consciously he thinks that he is a failure. Such children have a hard time facing anything in the world just with the simple thought that when his parents are not excepting him how the heck the whole world will. But the reality then changes that he is accepted by his limited number of friends and the world but becomes more and more rebellious with parents. If the situation worsens he takes up adverse steps like committing suicide.
Parents force their child to take up the career that they like. But if the child is not happy doing it then it does not mean that the parents made a wrong choice but it means that the child wants to take up the responsibility of his career on his own. As and when the responsibilities come he adapts himself and makes himself what he finally wants to be. Rather it is now parents choice to help the child be bright in his career by allowing him to choose or make him so dependent on them in every way that the child is lost in another world. In the latter case he becomes merely a child who just rebels against his parents for what they have done with his life. And it doesn’t matter how much time, energy or the money they have spent for making his future. And he questions all the closest relationships and wonders when he will be relieved from those relationships. And that’s the time he really needs parents but they don’t listen and the friends don’t help out. He really feels that he is being picked by his neck by this ferrous giant up in the air and no matter how hard he tries to reach the ground and free himself, he cannot. Because the giant’s grip starts getting tighter than ever before.
Hence, it’s time for all of us to really come out of these kinds of situations. There may be majority of people who might have loved the film but then when the time comes for them to let their child do what they want, they back off. The reason that they give is that they have sacrificed so much in their lives and made a living and saw the dream that their child would become a doctor or an engineer. But maybe he just wants to become a Radio Jockey or study in some institution for dramatics or make his life in Human Resource Development or be an anthropologist and just travel around the world. The choice of the kid is usually considered immature because they are very well protected in their homes. But if the child is given everything and even then not given the choice of his own career, he will become a suicidal case of Joy.
Many a times the parents think too much beyond the capacity of the child. Like for example he cannot do good in his 10th boards then they will worry that he will not be able to cope in 12th Science and hence will just be a clerk or stenographer or an accountant which is not what they want because they themselves are Engineers and Doctors. And due to so much thinking of them the child loses his capacity to think about what is good or bad for him. Before he opens his mouth he is being mentally prepared for the next step not at all concerned whether the child wants to take it up or not.
On the other hand, it is also true that if the child cannot make it through in 12th Science then he cannot dream of becoming the best astronomer in NASA, USA. He must know his pros and cons, his responsibilities and a fair idea about what will become of him after he does MCom or MBA. Will he be  able to compete with other and how in the very best way can he find a better job, better pay and and a better living so that he can support his own parents start his own family and look after each and every need of them.
So it’s a more asking children to choose what they like to do in the future and what not. If they themselves choose they flunk or they come out with flying colours, the whole and sole hero of his life is the student himself. Or the parents force him into something that he doesn’t like, then they will have to hear things like they have spoilt his life and that way they will lose him day by day and one day he will be no more for them.

Udaan Review

Udaan Review

The movie is a lot meaningful. The movie is more for those parents who are playing the character of Ronit Roy in real life. Udaan is a story which many of the parents do not realize but every child is affected negatively in his childhood and becomes a out burst in his adolescence. The main issue being is that the generation gap between our parents is like light years difference them the generation gap between their parents and them. Parents have to understand that and until and unless they except this fact, that they have to nuture their children with love, have to come at their level and see the world at their level also listen to them and feel from the child’s point of view, they won’t be able to give him the positive environment to the child.  Their inbuilt problem is that they can appreciate the movies but when it comes to the implementation of the same in their real life then they are not aware about how to give it because in their minds they are so perfect. I have seen parents reading books to a 6 month old child who does not speak but the senses in him are so strong then finally he develops a habbit for reading the books. All our parents teach us that India has a rich culture and tradition and rich heritage which we are bound to follow. All we learn is that being religious and well cultured and having ethnic values in our personality makes us a perfect person. But how to imbibe such values and the concept of simple living and high thinking is totally upto parents. Instead they just keep on comparing us to them at our age and teach us not to argue and strictly and blindly follow them. Some parents have a 5yr old girl, 3 yr old boy and a 6 month old baby girl and on top of that they host  a foreign teenager who also used to become so hyper at times.  One day all her kids were on a high and the teenager was learning different thing helping the mother. Then the teenager asks her why she doesn’t get angry at them. At that time she explain that if she gets angry and spanks them then they will never become good listeners and understand life. Then the teenager asks her why did she host her because the children are so small that they can hardly understand the cultural difference then she explains that they live in a very small twon, tshe wants them to no the other people of this world then gel well with them. The father in that family has an upcoming law firm which he recently established so when he comes home. So to spend time with them, he goes off to the office quiet late. But this so clearly open mindedly welcomes the three kids in their lives. And that teenager shared so much with both the parents so much that she never shared with her own parents.
I mean yes we do rich culture and heritage but we must give it to the coming generations in a way that they are better individuals than us. For that parents have to come at the child’s level and try and see, listen, feel and analyze things from his point of view. Instead comparing their childhood to his and that actually has a negative impact upon him. Not listening to him at his very tender age has worst impacts on his personality. Parents would not realize at that time and by the time they realize they blame the child himself for his negative personality. Instead if they be there when he needs them. I have seen parents who cancel their vacation just because her daughter wanted Mum’s help to wear a sari for a function. I have seen parents who have 3yearr old and 1 year old daughters and when he comes with his family to discuss work. He entertains our family and also keeps the girls engaged and happy.
Because if the children get such a positive, helpful, healthy and trustworthy environment to develop relationships then they will be successful in building easier relationships in their lives be it in school, college, office etc. And if a child gets a negative environment trust my life that child will feel insecure and he will never be able to trust people who may like to have a healthy relationship with anyone. His world is shaky and he is not even able to love the most special person because its logical that if parents cannot understand the child for past 28 yrs then how can he trust the love of his life for a lifetime. Because if he is not able to trust the family relationship which is his true self then how can he trust anyone else.
Instead when the couple decides to have a child they have to work a way out to parent that child so he becomes really comfortable iin whatsoever relationships that he has to been. Otherwise it may happen that he mite not give back in a positive way and have all chances to do something that the thinks is negative. And whenever he goes away from his homeland he is really comfortable but that feeling of insecurity starts seeping as soon as he touches his homeland and tries to be one of them. Parents when decide to send their child on a year long foreign exchange in his teenage then the parents do not change their outlook towards him. N he leaves the love of his life back and spends rest of his life doubting and yearning for someone who now gets married after a decade.

Rajneeti Movie Review

Rajneeti is a movie based on Indian politics showing the dirt in the same. The height of cruelty is also shown. The relentless thirst for the power to be the president of the party takes away the lives of the loved ones. The movie starts with a girl having an affair with her teacher and ends up giving birth to a baby boy. This boy born out of illicit relationship is thrown in the Ganges because neither that girl is the only daughter of the famous politician against whom her teacher and herself, used to protest. But when the same girl’s sons are losing the game, then at that time the girl’s brother takes her to the son to win him in her sons side. One can think that in a country where in a mother’s love is considered so pious that it can only be got from a mother. Lots of praises have been sung in mother’s love but even that is not spared. What’s the character of that woman who throws away the boy in Ganges to save her father’s and her face?
There is no place for a mother’s love and the worst depicted is the height to which a woman has to fall down to save a man’s reputation. Its just a quicksand in which a man loses everything his pride, love, family in the name of power in politics.
It is known that a father and daughter relationship is unique; in a way that father knows whats the girl’s likes and dislikes. Knowing that Indu loves Samar Pratap who is the youger brother of Prithviraj. But the father takes the advantage of Prithviraj’s financial loss and puts forward the condition that Indu will marry the man who becomes the chief minister, then only, he will fund the party for the canvassing before the elections.
Well even the younger brother is at fault here. At first, he confesses his love for Indu but later on, marries her to his elder brother, Prithviraj. Samar Pratap then plays a game to avenge his father’s death and in the meanwhile he loses his love life, Sara and Prithviraj. Indu is at great loss because days before she finds Prithviraj’s love for her. Samar Pratap decides to back to US to complete his PhD so he urges Indu to fight the elections. After the death of Prithviraj and Sara, Brij Gopal comes to know the reality of Suraj Kumar (illicit son of Prithviraj’s mother) so Brij Gopal doesn’t kill him but Samar Pratap plays yet another game and kill both Virendra Pratap and Suraj Kumar.
So the relationship between Suraj Kumar and Samar Pratap
So in other words, politics is such a game that it’s like playing a baccarat game. Here ppl go on throwing money unless their pockets are out and have no way out then only they go for a show of the cards. By the time the cards are shown one of them is sure to win and he does the show only when he guesses his win win situation.
A woman party worker uses her feminine powers to ensure that she gets a ticket to fight the elections. When this did not happen, she joined Virendra Pratap’s side and confessed in front of media that Prithviraj Pratap raped her.
In the Indian scriptures, a woman is highly placed wherein her power is used to seduce her lover but in moern day politics in India it happens everyday.
One thinks that how many times a girl, a daughter, a mother and a woman has to sacrifice her emotions, love, so that to keep the face of the male dominating her life. Any ordinary man cannot think of marrying someone else’s girlfriend nor can he allow his wife to sleep with other men so as to do his business successfully but since ages this kind of dirt is present in the Indian politics right from Nehru’s time.
There are enormous times of women questioning the male honesty. Indu does go to Samar Pratap to start a relationship when she comes to know that Prithviraj is not loving her but then when she comes to know that Sara is in his life then Indu finds her way out to love Prithviraj. But till the end, both remain faithful to their lovers. Samar returns to US with Sara’s mother after Sara’s death. Indu is pregnant with Prithviraj’s baby. That’s great if that happens in real life. I mean a girl only marrys the man who becomes Chief Minister. I mean what kind of male dominancy are we Indian women allowing and sacrificing even that illicit child from an married girl.
The overall cinematography and the costumes of the main characters are well addressed to the height of perfection. Actually the plot set out in the single party is also unique. It’s actually like palying a game of chess and using equal intelligence on the either side to get the power. The main character in this is Samar Pratap and how he gets back the power in his father’s name.

Raavan Review

Raavan is the modern story of the great Indian epic, Ramayan. Raavan is a demon who becomes so powerful through meditation, that is equal to God. So God decides to incarnate Himself in Lord Rama and then descends the earth with the prime motto to kill Raavan.

The movie is a fantastic piece of art and aesthetics. In this movie, each of the character either, Beera, Mangal, Ragini, Dev, or any other minor character is detailed out in an artistic way. Each of the characters here have their own pros and cons. Beera is an ordinary, uneducated man who ends up becoming a fierce enemy of the police because his sister is raped by the policemen on her wedding day. Ragini is the wife of the Superintendent of Police, Dev Pratap Sharma, who is kidnapped by Beera on her picnic. She is fearless and has her own mind and speaks it too. Dev Pratap Sharma is the Suprintendant of Police whose aim is to finish Beera by hook or by crook. Sanjeevani is the man who is on the both sides of Beera and Dev Pratap. He is man who is convinced by both, Beera and Jay’s way of fighting injustice.

The way, the main character of Raavan has been brought about by giving him less dialogues but more of words or sounds that clearly depicts his mood and his unpredictable nature of acting suddenly or landing up in a fight or ending up dancing in his sister’s marriage is uniquely and artistically crafted to perfection.

The character of Ragini in the movie is also artistically and aesthetically so well crafted that her fearless nature towards her own death and her strong will to fight against Beera and go bak to Dev is minutely detailed out to perfection that when served with such good cinematography and background music, the audience is awed by such a character.

Overall even side characters like Sanjeevani, Mangal and few of the main men in Beera’s gang have been so much detailed out to the core of the theme that only our five senses can appreciate them better than any words can describe.

The second point appreciable is the totally unpredictability of each and every main characters action. It ended like Ramayan wherein Lord Rama is suspious about the piety and fidelity of Sita. That point makes Ragini run to Beera and fall in love with Beera. This is the point wherein sometimes one thinks that a demon is much better than God himself. How can one think of his own wife having an affair with a married, uneducated, wrong doing man.

This is the point every Indian man fails to understand in his marriage despite the fact that his wife cannot think of having an affair with some other man. In the end, Ragini falls in love with Beera on his death bed!!
On the whole, the movie is quiet an artistic piece of work since it is directed by Mani Ratnam, and Music Director A.R. Rehman.

The selection of the shooting sites, Tumkur in Karnataka or the great waterfalls in Kerela, Ooty, Jhaansi, Mahabaleshwar or Malshej falls in Maharashtra or the shooting of some of the shots. Like Ragini falling from a tree branch into the river, or Dev Pratap symbolically killing Beera in the newspaper with his cigarette, Beera tracing a pinch of fear in Ragini’s eyes for not killing her or Beera and Ragini having a conversation in front of the Great Statue of Lord Shiva.

The reason why both Mani Ratnam and A. R. Rehman’s collective work is a perfect piece of art is that whateer situation either of the duo gives the other, they search it out, work on its implementation and finally cater us the music and the dance keeping the theme a raging force behind each and every sound or the soundtrack that Mani Ratnam has directed the story about. This implies that the story strongly governs the music of the movie in order to make it a perfect piece of art and aesthetics.

A.R. Rehman has given such music background at the time when Ragini is all alone captured and left alone in the pit in the ground or may it be the soundtrack of Beera wherein Mani Ratnam wanted A. R. Rehman to introduce Beera as an jungle, unpadh, gawaar type of man whose logical skills have successfully turned him into a protector of his own men. The soundtrack of Kata Kata, is to show a rural wedding. So the music, the lyrics and the choice of singers also plays a very important role. Specially Ila Arun’s voice is a folkloric voice which is taken best advantage of.

Here again Mani Ratnam has shown a typical rural house, its entrance opening to a large courtyard and the mud house within it charpoi in the middle. Outside the house there is a tree with built in sitting space around; the small things that make a rural image. And the way the whole procession goes to a nearby temple to get the groom and the bride married and to feel that in our minds Mr. A. R. Rehman has given classic music using a fusion of folk music and semi classical touch.

Personally speaking, such a piece of art wrok finds its own way out to the its appropriate art appreciaters. Like a Heere ki keemat ek zohri hi kar sakta hai. Heera zohri ko aur zohri here ko dhund hi nikaalta hai at the end of the day.

Aakrosh Review

Aakrosh Review

Aakrosh is about honour killing. Well its one of those themes wherein we all have to go for arranged marriage in our own caste. The bride and the groom's faith is decided by the caste. Both a girl and a boy should marry in their respective castes. If they dont then their caste people will kill them to keep the honour of the caste. These people wont let the other caste not that certain people went out of the caste ans got married which is a shame to that caste. Now if the caste is the same then the horoscopes are matched. If the horoscopes match, then the families of the girl and the boy meet. And if they like each other's family background after a brief investigtion from both the sides then the girl and the boy are allowed to meet for the first time.

The criteria for the girl are very stringent. She has to be good looking. She should not be physically challenged. She should be proefficient in all the household work. She should be a virgin and should not sleep with any man untill after marriage. Otherwise marriages get wrecked. And there are no rules for the boys. This is what is heart breaking to me. They can fuck any number girls before and after marriages becuase they are the MALES, the superior sex of our country. And if all the above tests are cleared then the marriage takes place. Many of the times, the boy and girl meet each other on the first night and are forced to make love even if they dont want to. But most of the arranged marriages do not work. Because the main ingredient in the marital status is missing and that is LOVE.

If love does not exist thn its just a court of law's piece of paper and people regret it and keep it grudging for their rest of their lives. This is the main reason why majority of the arraqnged marriages end up into divorces or there is an agreement that both of them will be in a live in relationship with the persons they love. So the best thing for the bride and the groom is to get engaged in an arranged marriage and then prolong the marriage for about a year or so without seeing the horroscope just to know each other better. Because in our culture, marriages are a lifetime relationship.

In a marriage the boy has to be best husband, the closest frnd and the best father to their kids and the girl has to be the best wife, mother to the her husband sometimes becuase after marriage their wife is their center of attarction and the wife should be so efficient that even if he is safe in her arms even though he cries, best frnd and mother th their kids. In every act that the husband does, the wife has to be supportive in his career, family planning, any plans for his kids. Marriage is a teamwork wherin both the husband and the wife be supportive to each others activities, feelings, needs, and collectively run their own family based on trust, friendship and love.

The failure of arranaged marriages leads to a live in relationship. In a live in relationship, both the persons enjoy sex without commitment. They wnat to enjoy each other merely physically and make no committments. But then in the long run either of the couple starts expecting things from the other like marriage, kids etc and thats where the live in relationship ends resulting in two young talented, intelligent, modern youth of India in the dark dungeon of Depression. And if during the relationship the girl gets pregnant then she is blamed fully for it because the guy just wanted to ahve sex not kids in that relationships. But in such relationships, both the guys and the girls are at such an age that they are easily get dragged into depression.

I am totally against this whole concept of honor killing and the arranged marraige thing. The reason being that I dont believe that the couple should marry if they dont love each other and see a bright future in each other. They should believe in each other more than worrying that their horroscopes will match or not. Marriage is carefully choosing one's life partner in the present tense so that the rest of the life is easy in the future tense because one is already in love with his or her spouse. Why should a someone marry that person whom he doesnt like to talk even. Thats mind boggling.

What if the begining few years in a marriage are successful and the after years are dreadful that both of them end up in live in relationshhips.

The main reason for the live in relationship to be popular amongst the young generation of India is the phobia of arranged marriages, the fear of the honour killing and ecoming outcaste. Well becoming outcaste is not an insult and truly speaking if tomorrow every one has an intercaste on intercultural marriage then the whole caste will destroy itself.

What have we learnt after 60 years of Indian independence is what this movie is showing. Such a grace. If today Gandhiji would be alive we would have killed him the instant he was born because he wanted to eradicate castecism. And here we are performing honour killing to save the honour of our caste. Its a viciuos circle that has to be brkoen. Releasing of such a movie is a shame to us. We have disgrace Gandhiji on this matter of honour killing. We dont deserve to call him OUR FATHER OF THE NATION.

Overall the movie was fantastic. Fabulous acting done by Ajay Devgn, Akshay Khanna, Bipaasha Basu and Paresh Rawal. The selection of the set and the appropriate use of light, sound and the dark effect are immensely impressive. The act of honour killing is very precisely dramatised.

When the thre guys are abducted from the isolated place, the people living nearby that area would not help because if they would help they would get killed. The reason being the girl is the daughter of the head of the panchaayat in that village and always bribing the police. So the police can do illicit bussiness of killing and man slaughtring the common man and the politicians briibe them with money and posts like DSP, ASP etc. Its the most shitty game being played by the politicians and the security of this nation so the common man's complaints are never heard and he suffers a lot at the end of the day. And even the court of Law is bribed so that the police and the politicians are on bail and can do whatever they want and be the same assholes the moment they are out of the court. So the woan in the end kills them all.

Well I am not with that lady but there is actually no way out for the common man to get justice. So she is right. But had the police and the politicians been cooperative and sensible the common man does not be that hostile. Now the situation is no one listens to the common man and when he picks up the weapons they (politicians and the police) encounter him saying he was a terrorist.

This is the main reason why the cream of India dont want to go for IAS, Army, Political Science instead they would prefer to be a clerk in a bank or a simple poen, and be the master in hs own field say Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Medical Sciece, Architecture. earn his living, fulfil his family needs and relax. And if his talents are not recognised here then he will move ab\road earn his name and the India will say that yes this Mr. X is an Inadian and we are proud of him because he is one of us. So hw do you expect the parents sending their kids on the 15th August and 26th January to hoist our Tricolour??? That way the Canadians are better atleast they value their common man's life. N the Palestinians are great because even if 13 poeple are killed by Isrealis they will kill 50 showing their utmost concern for the common man.
